While the AAP government in Delhi claims to stand against the farm laws, it has quietly notified one of the three laws, the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance 2020 on 23rd November 2020.
This shows that the AAP led government in Delhi has only disregard for the farmers’ voices across the country.
In addition to various cases of female harassment in Delhi by AAP MLAs such as Sandeep Kumar from Sultanpur Majra, Delhi who was accused of raping a woman in 2015 181 , the AAP has been continuously embroiled with anti-women activities even across Punjab.
The Kejriwal led AAP has been operating as a dictatorial unit in Delhi. Disciples in Punjab take orders from these masters in Delhi and execute them in Punjab.
However, the truth of the matter is that AAP hardly cares about Punjab or Punjabi’s welfare, always secondary to their prized Delhi. This was recently observed post Kejriwal’s announcement of 300 units of free power for Punjab and the horrendous politics that ensued.
While the Aam Aadmi Party pretends to be the beacon of truth and transparency in Punjab politics, it has always played the politics of deception. This shows that AAP, clearly has a political agenda and is more than willing to accept bureaucrats who bend rules to pursue politics.
AAP has been consistent in its hypocrisy against the people of Punjab, not just in matters of agriculture and power, but even with respect to water sharing in the state.
AAP’s undemocratic and radicalized elements are always on the lookout to flare up tensions in the social realm to suit their political agenda. The weight to this statement comes from AAP’s shortcomings in the recent Delhi Riots in 2020.
AAP is a party that can go to any extreme, to maintain their political position. The party has on several occasions found to be involved in Khalistani agenda.
AAP has not stopped its anti-Punjabiyat politics since its advent in Punjab. Even before its first election in Punjab in 2017, Delhi’s AAP legislator Naresh Yadav was found fomenting communal tensions in 2016. He committed a sacrilege on Quran in Punjab’s Muslim-dominated town of Malerekotla.
AAP has no ideological vision for the welfare of its constituents. The party runs around the personality cult and megalomania of Arvind Kejriwal. Despite making tall promises, it has completely ignored the plight of the Punjabis.
The industrial users in Delhi have been asked to pay 6.8% more towards electricity charges in 2020-21, than what they did in FY 2019-20.
Kejriwal’s government in June 2021 faced flak for a 48 Hour water crisis in Delhi, because of lack of efficient water management on part of the AAP led government.
Not only Oxygen, Delhi also suffered from the politics of ‘Ignorance’ practised by AAP. From 2015-19, AAP didn’t make any new Hospitals and this became one of the primary reasons for overcrowding at the already contracted hospital infrastructure in Delhi.
A CMIE report in May 2021 revealed that the unemployment rate in Delhi was an abysmal 45.6%.
Amid the infrastructural development, there was also a 45% shortage of teachers in Delhi’s government schools till 2020.
Featuring second on a list of five worst performing cities, Delhi’s figures for the ‘availability of public transport’ was 1,688.50 per lakh population (PLP).
Punjab has amassed huge outstanding liabilities of nearly 2.47 Lakh Crore, with the debt to GSDP ratio skyrocketing to 38.7% of the GDP in 2021.
AAP wants criminal cases to be filed in large numbers against the hapless farmers of Punjab for stubble burning. AAP goes to every court targeting Punjab without acknowledging the distress of Punjab farmers. They have no consideration or knowledge of the people of Punjab.
